The Asset Management Team provides Council wide support for strategic asset management including the development of the corporate asset management system. The asset management system supports improvement of service delivery through systematic approaches to customer request management and work flow management practices that are transparent and auditable.


The role


We are seeking an Asset Data Development Officer to join the Asset Management Team. Reporting to Team Leader Asset Management, your role is to:

  • identify, compile, verify and record public infrastructure assets, specifically open space assets, such as trees, playground equipment, gardens, foreshore areas to name a few, including developing an inventory of assets that records the asset attributes (financial, physical & spatial).
  • This position involves using GIS, CAD, Asset Management Database and corporate software systems for collation, integration, recording and interrogation of data sets and drafting, interpreting and translation of information to and from construction plans and field verification.


About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • demonstrated experience in the use of specialist asset management and spatial applications, high level of knowledge of asset management principles and practices with an understanding of financial implications, asset purchasing and maintenance programs, and a working knowledge of SQL query and reporting.


Examples of experience, skills and qualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate the City of Kingston’s values of Future Orientated, Accountable, Dynamic, Expert, Community and Celebration
  • Expertise and demonstrated experience in MapInfo, QGIS and/or asset management information systems would be desirable
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or Spatial Science would be advantageous

The salary for this position starts at $74,820.98 (Band 5) per annum plus superannuation.
